The World Salsa Championships is a dream come true. Dancers from all nations have united in Las Vegas & Florida - USA for the last few years to compete, showcase and share their incredible talents to the world.
Dancers have demonstrated their talents to the world, inspiring us to take Salsa to the next level. The event was produced by a new company called Salsa Seven. |

| Competition Rules |

The competition will be held on Friday, 24th September 2010. All applications should be submitted up to Friday 17th September 2010.
It will be an open competition for couples.
There will be a first round competition on Thursday 23r September 2010 for the five final couples to be selected to compete on Friday, 24th September 2010. |

It will be an open competition to all (salsa dancers on1 & salsa on2 ). The following regulations apply:
- The final competition should be a choreographic routine.
- They must not surpass the duration of 2:30 minutes.
- It is not forbidden to present a mixed choreography, as long as the salsa part lasts for a minimum of 1:30 minutes.
- Only one lifting is allowed (lifting is considered when both feet do not touch the ground).
- Figures where one foot touches the ground are not considered liftings.
- In open positions (shines etc) no liftings, leaps and other acrobatics are allowed.
If these rules are not followed the pairs are not disqualified, but points are withdrawn from their scores. |

They will use the following judging scale: :
- 40% rhythm (either for the on “1” or the on “2” division)
- 20% contact – partnering (leading – following)
- 15% choreography – innovation
- 10% expression – self-confidence
- 10% appearance – presentation
- 5% audience

Useful Tips.
- Take 2 copies of your music and your choreography with you, just to be on the safe side.
- Your appearance counts...wear impressive costumes.
- Try out your new shoes before you come to the contest.
- Take your friends and relatives with you to bring you good luck!! ;-)
